For Restaurants

Payout Setup — 15 Minutes

1

Click “Connect Stripe”

In your Forkfluence restaurant dashboard, click the “Set Up Payouts” button. This opens Stripe's secure onboarding.

2

Enter Business Info

Stripe asks for your business name, EIN, address, and a representative's info. This is standard KYC verification.

3

Add Your Bank Account

Connect the bank account where you want payouts deposited. Stripe supports all major US banks.

4

Start Receiving Payouts

Once verified, payouts arrive in your bank on a 2-day rolling basis. You'll see every transaction in your dashboard.

For Creators

Payout Setup — 5 Minutes

1

Get Invited & Approved

A restaurant invites you, or you apply on the marketplace. Once admin approves, you're in.

2

Click "Set Up Payouts"

In your creator dashboard, hit the payout button. Stripe opens a quick onboarding form.

3

Enter Your Info + Bank/Debit Card

Stripe asks for your name, SSN (last 4), and where to send money. Debit card = instant payouts.

4

Earn 5% on Every Order

When someone orders through your link or promo code, you earn commission automatically.

5

Get Paid After 48-Hour Hold

Commissions are held 48 hours for fraud protection, then auto-transferred to your account.

How Tax Works

Simple — nothing changes from how you handle it today

🏪

Restaurant Sales Tax

  • Tax is calculated automatically per location (Kannapolis 7%, Cornelius 7.25%)
  • Tax is included in your payout
  • You remit to NC Department of Revenue — same as Toast, cash, or card sales
  • Nothing new to learn — your accountant handles it the same way
🎥

Creator Income Tax

  • Commission income is reported as 1099-NEC (independent contractor)
  • Stripe collects your W-9 info during onboarding
  • 1099 issued at year-end if you earn $600+
  • Same as any brand deal or affiliate income you already report

Common Questions

What if I don't have a Stripe account?

No problem! The setup flow creates one for you automatically. You just fill in your business details and bank info.

What are the total fees on each order?

Restaurants keep 85% of the food total. The remaining 15% covers the creator commission (5%) and the platform fee (10%). Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30) comes out of the platform's 10% — not charged separately. No hidden fees.

Can I see a breakdown of every order?

Yes! Both restaurants and creators get a detailed dashboard showing every order, commission, and payout with full transparency.

What about chargebacks and refunds?

If a customer disputes a charge, the commission hold prevents creator payouts on fraudulent orders. Restaurants can issue refunds from their dashboard.

Do creators need a business to get paid?

No. Creators sign up as individuals. Stripe handles the W-9 collection. You'll get a 1099 if you earn $600+ in a calendar year.
